About Me

I have worked with children and families for over 30 years. I originally trained as a teacher and then worked my way up to head teacher with many years spent as a SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator).

I have worked in both primary and secondary schools, mainstream and specialist provisions. During my time in education, I developed a desire to be better able to support children and families emotionally and trained in Play Therapy and then Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy.

Experience

I volunteered as a counsellor at the local hospice for 2 years, supporting the friends and families of the bereaved.

I have worked as a counsellor in both primary and secondary schools over the past 10 years.

I have been in private practice as psychotherapist since 2021 working with both adults and children.

As a foster carer for a number of years I have valuable insights which helps me to regularly support foster children and their families.

Interests

I love to spend time walking and being outside. I particularly love the light at different times of the day such as sunrise and sunset or after a storm. I enjoy exploring this interest in light through working with stained glass.
