Reflective Parenting

Parenting is not always easy and sometimes goes wrong without us knowing how or why. We often learn the hard way that we can’t change our child’s behaviour and this can escalate to conflict and negative feelings. Whether you have young children or teenagers, the principles of reflective parenting can help you build a more positive relationship with your child.

As parents, this means learning to observe, reflect and respond respectfully to children’s feelings and behaviours. When children feel understood they develop stronger relationships, not only with their parents but also with friends and the wider community. Family life becomes enjoyable and conflict lessens.

I offer reflective parenting sessions to support parents and help them to understand their child’s behaviour, change the way they react to it and through this reflection, strengthen the bond between them and develop better connections with their child.
